You have to be committed. It's easy to quit - you just have to make a decision and stick with it. I don't mean to make light of it how hard it is to make that decision - but the fact is that you will never, ever quit, no matter what you do or try, until you make a decision that you are going to quit. There will always be times when you want a cigarette - I still have them many years after quitting. At those times you have to ask yourself "Do I want to smoke, or do I want to quit". Unless you can answer that question "I want to quit", you are wasting your time. Even the most sucessful therapies are lucky to hit a 65% success rate long term - and most hist about 35%. The reason is that the only people who quit are those that make the decision. The bottom line is that you don't need any drugs, or therapies, etc - you just need to decide.
One tool you can use to help you out is to make a list of all the postive aspects of smoking, and all the negative aspects. Be sure to include emphysema, lung cancer, dying before your kids mature, living on oxygen, etc. Keep that list with you 24/7. When you feel the urge to smoke, pull out the list and review it. Then renew your commitment to quiting.
