Dynamic per hr dealer labor rates Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Mon, 25 Feb 2008 13:10:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey everyone,
I have a small time Saab repair business in Morgantown, WV. I have always based my labor rates on the rate the local dealer was charging minus $25 and hr and they have always charged a flat rate (usually around $100, but it has been as high as $120 and as low as $90) It has been brought to my attention that many dealers may now be using a dynamic labor system (ranging from 130an hr for transmission work, or $80an hr for basic engine work), charging flat rate dependent on job or varying rates per job. Wright Saab in Pittsburgh is doing this, and I know that Saab of Vero and Saab of Orlando in FL are doing this also. I haven't heard of this practice, has it been going on for awhile? Anyone have any personal experience with it.
Thanks everyone,
-Chad Lowers
