As someone who has been a Mac owner since 1988 and has owned PCs as well since 2001, I have never had a problem on any Mac that I have owned that wasn't fixable. In fact in 20 years the only problems that I have had were a bad hard disk (could happen to anyone) and Microsoft Word telling me that I had some corrupted fonts (which worked in every other piece of software that I have - including Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint). On the other hand my Dell PC has had the operating system crash at least three times and my son's self-built Windows PC has had hard-drive problems, motherboard problems and is on its third different version of Windows. Should my Mac ever have a problem that "can't be fixed", IMHO the time I have NOT spent dealing with all of the issues that the PCs have had to date would more than pay for replacing it, if that is what I had to do.
