Every family is different so the ultimate demands placed on a tankless water heating system vary. That said, a 7.4 gal./minute tankless heater _could_ supply three hot water faucets with continuous water demands at the same time here in New Orleans. The same unit in a substantially colder climate will supply at most two faucets at the same time. Do you or your family 1) take three showers at the same time? 2) run the dishwasher and take two showers at the same time? 3) take one shower, run the dishwasher, and load the top loading washing machine for a hot wash at the same time? In New Orleans, the top of the line Rheem/Ruud RTG-74 will do the job fine. It does, however, require a separate gas line delivering 200,000 btu's. Not impossible, but something to consider. Also, don't forget the stainless steel venting system you will need.
Good luck!
