exhaust connections?
Having just changed some exhaust components on my wife's '99 93 I was amazed how easy it was with that type of joint, as opposed to the slip fit connections I was expectiong. I sprayed the clamps and fittings with PB Blaster(great stuff), unbolted them with no problem and just whacked the joint with a hammer one time and they just popped apart. Amazing!
I can remember working in my Dad's garage, having to use an air chisel, hack saw, lots of bad words, and then I'd consider myself lucky if I didn't destroy the good component, as well as the one I was replacing. And when you finally got it put together with those U clamps, you generally had to go back to readjust or double them up to stop it from leaking. Do all cars use this type of fitting now?
