I was hoping someone would have information on the warrenty for 2003 and newer mufflers. My 94 9000 Areo had a new cat back exhaust system installed at a Saab dealer in '04. The invoice states "lifetime warrenty parts and labor". The service manager at the dealership which originally installed the part(500 miles away) has informed me that all mufflers after '03 have this warrenty from the factory. The problem is this: The Saab dealer ship in Asheville, NC (the closest dealership) did not recognize the fiberglass insulation coming out of my tailpipe as a muffler problem. They concluded someone stuffed something into the pipe. They stated there was no such materal in the exaust system. Saab Customer Assistence is unaware of the warrenty and will not provide any assistence without a formal diagnostic performed by a dealership. This seems pointless without a warrenty as I already know what the problem is. I think I recall reading about this warrenty in Saab Soundings years ago. Any info would be appreciated.
