I put Akebono pads on my 03 9-5 Aero wagon back in May. This is my first experience with Akebonos ceramic pads. LIke yours they felt mushy. I have a pressure bleeder, and proceeded to bleed the system, replacing the old fluid with new. I didn't see any air bubbles while bleeding, so I was baffled. It took around 500 miles of driving for the brakes to stop feeling mushy. Now they are firm as they should be. I dislike the initial grip (it's not really there compared to the pads that came on my car), but when pressed they brake very well with no fade.
