Interesting. I wonder where on I-84 that happened. I'm on there every once in while between home and UConn. Nice to hear the Saab did well, but remember fronts and backs of cars are designed very differently. The front is very soft and the rear is much stiffer. My mother was rear ended in her 2000 Town and Country (piece of sh*t car) a few years ago by a 2003 Saab 9-3 convertible. She was stopped to turn left on a 4-lane road and the woman in the Saab pulled out behind my mom accelerating out into the road. I don't think she even hit the brakes before impact. The airbags did not go off in the minivan (I don't think they go off when you're hit from behind) or in the Saab. Long story short the van needed a new bumper. The Saab was towed away needing a whole front end including radiator, hood, fenders, headlights... I've seen other rear-ender accidents where the car in back needed lots of work and the car in front looks fine too.
