With the infection you have, you should insist on a complete blood panel to quantify your white blood cell count and to determine the effect, if any, of Bactrim on your white blood cell count. Especially have them check the neutrophils which are the infection fighting portion of the white blood cells. Most people have no allergy to Bactrim but it's essentially banned in Europe because it can be deadly. It destroyed my bone marrow's ability to make white blood cells and the docs had to inject another drug, Neupogen, to jump start the bone marrow's white blood cell production again. Bactrim is potentially nasty stuff so don't wait until after you complete the 10-day antibiotic program to see if it's having a negative effect.
