I agree with Bob and Noel. If they agreed to do the work, then they (implicitly) agreed that they knew how to do it. They should have called you if there were any questions.
I'm assuming they mounted them the wrong direction. Also, I'm assuming that there was some indication on the rims that they only go one way (like on single-sided rears and single-brake-disc fronts... or even arrows on them?)
If they aren't the experts on BMWs, then who is. They should at lest have the resources available to them to find the answers needed to mount the tires the right way.
Took my BMW for a ride last evening, and now waiting on the rain in our neck of the woods,
