Making a move from 9-5 Sedan to 9-3 SportCombi

I sold my '03 9-5 Aero sedan the other day (craig's list - to the first person to look at it.) I've been looking everywhere within a 100 mile radius for something newer to replace it (actually even looking on ebay.) My first choice would have been an '06 9-5 wagon, but I couldn't find the right combination of mileage, colors, etc. I have decided on an '06 9-3 Aero SportCombi (2.8l V6 with 21k miles, and 19 months of warranty remaining.) I remember reading reviews of this engine when it came out and always looked forward to driving one. It seems pretty nice. The dual exhaust is throaty, and it's plenty quick. I started looking for info on things that go wrong with these and there doesn't seem to be much - I guess the coolant reservoirs fail, and this one has already had it replaced (I got the IRIS report.) Beyond that, they seem to be reliable. The oil filters on these are pretty odd - they look like exposed paper filter media and an O - ring for $16, but I think the change interval is more like 10k. Anyone have experience with doing their own maintenance on these cars?
In the back of my mind I keep thinking I should continue looking for the right 9-5, but I've been driving around in my father in law's Hummer for a few days and not enjoying it. I just hope the size difference isn't that significant. I'm picking it up on Friday...
