Yes, it's realy disappointing to find a car that someone has bludgened to get something out of, and you often find they get to some point and stopped and didn't get what they were digging for... Gold? not likely...
So one day I find a c900 and someone has BROKEN the alternator mount. That diamond shaped piece of aluminum that bolts to the block and you put the bushings in and the long bolt... you know the one. I was blown away...
So a few days later I'm talking to my buddy in San Diego, there are about 5 of us that are completly Saab Aflicted... and was telling him about what I saw. He admitted he did it, the alternator was a very new rebuilt and he didn't have the proper tools to remove it, properly, but he did have a large pry bar and destroyed the mount but did get the alternator out. I cussed him out, told him he was a bone head, and next time call me and I'd *bring* him the correct tools. That if he was that poor I'd give him some MIT (made in Taiwan) tools to always keep in his car. Not a good excuse. He apologized...
