Reward them for bad business decisions? No way, no how. I'm an executive at my company (I am; this is not just a hypothetical statement). If I run the company into the ground and know I'm doing so, why would I expect the government to bail me out of my poor decision making? Why would you want to give me your hard earned tax dollars as a reward for me running the company into the ground?
Labor unions strangling the US automakers and idiotic business practices by senior leadership is what has put them in this situation. I'm not paying them to fix that. A "bailout" is a band-aid. That money will be gone inside of a few months, and they will be back exactly where they are now. We might as well put that money in a pile and light it on fire.
Many here will agree, many will disagree. It's our right as Americans to have and express our opinion, and that is mine. Thanks for listening, and enjoy your Saabs. I'm hoping that my 2008 9-3 Aero still has a warranty and pre-paid service for 36,000 miles before this is said and done. If GM goes under, I'm driving a white elephant. Same with my 2004 Trailblazer.
