I actually live north of Denver, in Loveland. I work in Broomfield, so when I bike commute I drive 18 mi to Longmont & ride the remaining 20 mi from there. Home is the reverse, so I tend not to ride when the weather's crappy or makes riding conditions dangerous.
Besides the Spoke Tensioner, look for a dishing tool ($15?) & wheel truing stand ($30-$40?). If you true wheels a lot, they'll make your life much easier.
The new frame is lugged steel, built by Mark Nobilette in Longmont. He's been building custom frames for over 30 yrs, & is the sole custom builder (right now) for both Rivendell & Rene Herse. He's using lugs from four different "brands" & custom cutting them so the bike will truly be "one-of-a-kind." I'm having Spectrum Powder Works (in Colorado Springs) apply a one-of-a-kind paint job over it. I'll post a link to pics when I get the finished frameset.
Good luck with the new Mavic wheel!
