There is more to consider other than the TB when Limp Home Mode occurs. You need to ensure other related components are pristine. e.g. Check vacuum hoses, Air mass meter, any intake related sensor. In my opinion, unless your car is really screwed up, LHM is best handle by the owner. Why, because the things you need to do to ensure optimum operation of the intake side of the engine, a mechanic will never address. Here is what they won't do:
1. Thoroughly Clean Throttle Body -- this probably would have saved you from buying that rebuilt TB. You have to make sure all throttle body nipples are clear of all build-up.
2. Make sure all (ALL) vacuum hoses are in tip top shape, particularly those connecting to TB. Replace all with silicon hoses for a bit of comfort going forward.
3. Clean Air Mass Meter (do this with plastic safe electronics cleaner).
4. Clean air filter.
5. Reset throttle body.
BTW, you will know when your car is heading to LHM. The sign are rough or slight stuttering idle. If this start happen, you can likely head-off LHM with step 1-4.
Hope this helps......
