As some may remember, I was involved in an accident a couple days before Thanksgiving. I've been battling the insurance company ever since, who initially were going to total the car, even after the shop I'm working with (which is great by the way, Advanced Auto Body in East Granby, CT if anyone ever needs body work) declared the vehicle was an easy repair. Unfortunately, MetLife (my ins co), only gave the vehicle a 7400 value, which as we all know is a bit low for a mint condition 99 Viggen. Long story short, I was ready to pursue action through the CT Insurance Commissioner's office, when I finally was able to speak with the appraiser assigned to my case; he just so happened to be a euro-car geek, and recognized the car for what it was. He was able to put together an appraisal that was acceptable by my ins. co to have the vehicle repaired - hopefully I'll be back on the road before the holidays!
