OT: So the US Gov't threw GM a life preserver.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 20 Dec 2008 05:51:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
and assigned the UAW to hold the other end while using a life boat with very little fuel on board. A "one time only" chance to either prove you can re-make yourselves or enter bankruptcy, with the US gov't getting first pick at the bones if bankruptcy happens.
Now for my question: With GM being a very global company, if GM goes under in April, will other nations (Germany, Sweden, UK, Australia, China, Korea, Indai, Brazil, et al) nationalize (even temporarily until a buyer/investor can be found) the former pieces of GM within their borders to save their own manufacturing base?
My guess, and it is a guess only, is that this will occur to some extent. Maybe not all Nations, but I feel some will definitely do it.
What are other opinions?
