Most common position for a flat tire?

Which tire is more prone for a flat?
In my limited experience, the rear tires are more prone. Not sure why. As far as left or right, I don't know.
Anybody have any ideas?
My spare tire is getting old. I want to use a snow tire as a spare tire in case of a flat. The snow tire is directional. If I only have to drive a few miles, using a directional tire in the wrong direction probably is ok. I would like to guess and carry the tire that is in the more common direction. My wild guess is that the right sided tire is more common to be flat because it is closer to the curb.
