On a 9000 V6 there is no DI, it's equipped with a Bosch motronic 2.8.1 ingnition system.
The main possibilities would be:
- fuel pump as mentioned earlier, even though they have a habit of not restarting after a stop. When running, they usually keep going. Had that happen on my 1995 9000 V6 years ago.
- the other thing being able to just stall a fine running car would be the Crankshaft position sensor.
I just replaced mine on the 9-5 V6, after it kept stalling at full speed. Not fun.
Both element are 'in series': A failed CPS will switch off the fuel pump. So if the fuel pump is not running, it doesn't necessarily mean it is bad.The ECU closes the fuel pump circuit based on CPS input.
Good luck,
Jan Geert
