I would think that the reverse could just as easily be true. Cessation of production of SAABs would inevitably mean declining demand for parts (although, as has been pointed out in earlier posts, it would continue in some form for quite a while), paralleled by cars going out of service. But this, of course, would inevitably result in fewer parts being produced, and eventually stopping altogether as such production became unprofitable. If these factors were plotted on a graph, at some point the price of parts would actually go UP as they became scarce relative to the cars still requiring service.
In any case, the manufacturers and distributors of such parts have an investment in them, and I don't expect they'll just hold a fire sale any time soon.
