Consumer grade trimmers are designed for 50 hrs of use Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 5 May 2009 18:14:39 In Reply to: Gas trimmer died in use, IanC [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 5 May 2009 18:05:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The owner of a Commercial Mower shop informed me that the engines on consumer grade trimmers are desinged for only 50 hours of use! I thought he was exagerating until I did the math; 10 minutes of use, twice per week, 20 weeks of the year, 6 years of ownership, equals about 50 hours.
If your Ryobi trimmer is over 5 years old, it is toast. Send it to that great metal recylcing facility in the sky and buy a new model.
