I posted the question on the 9000 board by mistake. Hope to get a wider audience and more help on the problem here.
I am upgrading the laptop from a 2Ghz duo core to a 2.67GHz(?) core 2 duo. Both are HP. The HD is bigger, 160 GB versus 60 GB. Both are 7,200 rpm. Memory is the same at 4GB. There are so many different applications I have on the old laptop I do not want to reinstall them on the new laptop one by one. So far Norton Ghost recovery of the old computer to the new one has failed. I understand my single license Norton Ghost restrcits the migrate function. I can only recover on the same computer.
There must be an easie method by way of software to do this. What happend to thousands of other users who wants to upgrade their computer? If I have to reinstall the applications on the old laptop to the new one at a time, I'll have to carry both laptops for two weeks at least until I get the same look and feel.
