Saab buyer options... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Wed, 20 May 2009 10:27:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
There was a post earlier this week listing three of the serious potential buyers for Saab: Fiat, Koenigsegg, and Rennert. How does everyone feel about these prospects?
I am somewhat on the fence regarding Fiat, simply because I have a gut feeling that it is getting too big too quickly. I don't know much about their products, philosophy, vision, etc., so I suppose that could go either way.
I did some research on Koenigsegg and they seem to be a very interesting company. I'm not entirely sure how much liberty they would give Saab or even how much financial flexibility a somewhat small company like that may have. Does Saab and Koenigsegg "fit" or would it be in the best interest of everyone to actually have two opposites that target completely different markets and basically do their own thing with the same money?
Finally, I know very little about Rennert, so I'll declare empty pockets on that one and let somebody else have my $.02 worth of opinion.
Any chance that the new owner of Saab will have a presence at the Owner's Convention this year? Just trying to get a better feel of everybody's opinions on this. Drive safely and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
