Will some of our next cars be Canadian? Magna?

The BBC is reporting the German government is supporting Magna buying a controlling interest in Opel. As you probably know, Magna is Canadian and builds Saab 9-3 convertibles, BMW X3s and other cars in Austria. Most of the cars they build are low production variants of cars under contract.
I consider my Saab an American car though assembled in Sweden.
Maybe someday I might buy a Opel? Who knows? If so, it will be my first Canadian car. Magna would be Canada's only car company, though foreign companies have plants in Canada.
How could Magna sell Opels in the US? Joint venture with Kia? Or start a dealer network with Penske or AutoNation? Or maybe GM might prevent it. The current plan is Opel will be owned 35% by GM, 10% by Opel employees, and the rest by Magna. Saab's future is not yet certain but Magna could hypothetically try to link up with Saab.
