You might have a dragging caliper or a transmission bearing problem. Drive the car around, avoiding the brakes as much as possible. After 5 or 10 minutes, pull the car to the side and CAREFULLY feel if any rotor seems to be a lot hotter than the rest - just hold your hand near the tire rim. Alternatively, jack up the car and see if the wheel can turn.
You didn't mention the model (9-3 or 9-5), or the transmission. But a worn pinion bearing could make that sound. 70K is pretty low miles for such a thing, but anything can fail any time.
