so you can pretty much say it's a GM engine. Personally, I got nothing against Chevy's or GMC's (I really like them) but no one forced GM to buy SAAB. Anyway, SAAB initially only built aircraft and most aircraft manufacturers do not make their own engines so I assume it was only logical to them (SAAB aviation) to do the same with cars.
