A lot of depends on what you are looking for. Where's the job located?
Do you like Urban? Do you prefer historic districts? Like the suburbs? Family or single? Budget you are looking for? It might be best to describe what you are looking for and ask specifics about areas around town of places you've found and researched that fit your budget and style.
Denver has grown quite a lot over the years, so there is a lot of choice, and not many areas to avoid. You'll find everything from lofts downtown and infill type housing close in, to suburban developments. All depends on what you want. Another to keep in mind is the mistakes I see transplants make; they buy a mountain home. Mountains sounds nice, but two lane roads on hardpack shared with a few hundred novice winter drivers can make miserable commutes... so consider commute. My wife's commute to Colorado Springs was quicker than a friends commute from Evergreen for example.
I've lived downtown, just outside downtown in a historic district, and then out to Littleton when we started having kids. My office is out here too, so my commute is 5 minutes :). Actually have 2 houses in Littleton (one just refuses to sell...) I grew up in Denver, so feel free to ask... but I'm vague on the out east newer stuff and north end of town.
