Looked at it today Posted by DivrDon [Email] (#1004) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DivrDon) on Tue, 14 Jul 2009 13:30:08 In Reply to: Can someone check out a 9-5 in Chicago for me?, Saabpilot [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 12 Jul 2009 19:00:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just came back from looking at the car. The interior is in good shape. No rub marks on the seats. Seat fans work. Carpet clean. Leather nice. The alarm has a problem as noted in the car pics. Didn't notice any missing pixels on the SID, but didn't look hard at it. Both plugs are missing from the light/accessory outlets.
The outside looks like it has never seen a garage. All of the black rubber trim is fading. The front spoiler lip needs to be repainted. The white in the pics on the front bumper is wax residue, but the bumper has a lot of stone chips. The hood has a dent on the driver's side near the windshield. There is a hairline scratch along both passenger side doors, with a few more minor scratches elsewhere. The scratches are noticeable because of the car's black color. Two rims have minor curb rash. The Cooper tires are down to the replacement bars. Along the bottom inner edge of the tailgate its starting to rust; didn't look at the bottom of the doors. The spare is dirty, so its been on the ground.
Under the hood its clean. The car started right up and idled well. Oil was not recently changed, but looked OK on the dip stick. Trans oil did not register on the dip stick. I did not drive it.
Felipe Solis was the guy that showed me the car. He said you could get a free car fax at the ArlingtonAcura.Com web site. He didn't know anything of value about the car other than he liked the way it drove.
Other than my '03, I can't compare it to anything used because I haven't been looking. When I turned my '03 in at the end of lease 2 years ago with 57k it was cleaner overall and looked better because the silver paint didn't show every nick.
