I never did the Aero Academy but there are other ways to get a similar experience for not a lot of money.
The BMWCCA has lots of regional chapters and they run Advanced Driving Skills schools and High Performance Driving Schools that are open to anyone. And since Mini Coopers are made by BMW, the instructors are usually pretty familiar with the differences between FWD and RWD cars. If you have an Aero you are better prepared than many cars that show up for these.
You get emergency and threshold braking, lane change maneuvers, skid pad time, skid control, inducing and controlling rotation, understeer and oversteer exercises, figure 8, and autocross type maneuvers in the Advanced Skills class. Then you get on a race track for the High Performance class-- more braking, learning lines in corners, vehicle dynamics, more car control, etc. It's two days in all and very affordable.
I just did one of each and can absolutely recommend it. It very quickly raises your level of comfort and ability to do some extreme things in your Saab.
