If I were in his situation I can see 3 possible alternatives to fixing that suspension:
1) Piece together the parts from a non-wagon (normal suspension) E series and swap the whole assembly into your wagon. If I were going this route I would try to find some springs that had a stiffer rate than the stock ones because the extra weight of the wagon will probably cause your rear to "bob" with the OEM.
2) IF you want cheap and functional you could go the redneck route and get a shop to weld in some leaf springs off of a half ton truck. They could probably do it in less than an hour and you would never have to worry about the rear suspension again. The ride in the back would suck tho.
3) The route I would go: I think that you have a special car with a very special suspension. It was designed with than pneumatic suspension to be used with that vehicle. That technology is pretty outdated. The closest thing in comparison is "airbag suspension". A custom ship could probably do the whole thing for about $1000 because you probably don't need the "on-the-fly" pump to change the pressure while out and about. It will have a fitting to inflate of deflate the bags to fine tune the ride and height of the car. This option will probably give you better ride quality than the stock suspension as well...
I hope some of these ideas help...
