Michigan is running out of good gravel........... Not seeing as many trucks may be related to the growing shortage of high quality sand and gravel in Michigan. We will soon have to quarry rock and crush it for smaller aggregate sizes just like southern states.
Michigan has been on a aggresive road repair program for three years or so. The expressways are all pretty good now, as are the major highways. City streets are still notoriously bad in many places (Michigan even has a competition where the winner is the person who identifies the worst pot hole!), and roads in the spring are far worse than the end of summer when most constructions projects are nearing completion.
