Basically same as a dragging clutch in a Saab, where the clutch doesn't completely disengage. When running, there's always some substantial spinning force applied to the tranny input shaft.
There's a chance it's a hydraulic problem. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
In fact, you can do a simplistic check first. The throw-out lever comes out the bellhousing to the clutch slave cylinder. Have someone operate the clutch pedal while you watch out there. No need for the engine to be running.
Pump the clutch pedal completely to the floor. The slave piston (& throw-out lever) SHOULD move back & forth about 12mm. Then hold the clutch pedal down to the floor for a minute or more. The slave should NOT slowly creep back to it's compressed position.
Some common problems...
Moves but not enough? Air in the hydraulic lines.
Moves too little at first, but after several pumps it's OK? Air again.
Slave slowly creeps back to retracted position? Bad master cylinder.
Other behavior? Post back...
