Mass Pike to get to Cape Cod?
Only a ton of miles and tolls out of your way.
Go shorter and toll free (almost).
Cross the Hudson at the Tap, take 287 till it ends at I-95 in Connecticut. Take I-95 to Providence, RI, watch for the signs and take I-195 to the Cape.
No tolls on I-95, 195.
Only take 84-90 if you're going to Boston or points north. The Cape is definitely an I-95/195 trip.

(Stationed CGAS Cape Cod 12/80-3/84. Knew I-95/195 like the back of my hand. I still have toll tokens for I-95 in CT!)
