Need some ideas for clearing a drain in my driveway... Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Wed, 9 Sep 2009 18:40:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I currently store one of my Saabs (whichever is not registered seasonally) at my family's beach house in NH. The garage is actually underneath the house (in the basement), so the driveway is a fairly steep hill. At the bottom of the driveway, right in front of the garage door, is a small drain, about 8 inches in diameter. No one had used the garage in a long time, so I had to clear out tons of sand and grass from the driveway. Problem is, the drain is now totally clogged with said sand and dirt so when it rains, the water flows right into the garage, which is not good for my poor 9000.
I have no idea what is under the drain. I popped the cover off and scooped out as much dirt as I could with my hands, and found a pipe, probably about 3 inches in diameter. No idea where it leads.
Anyone have any experience with this? How can I get all the crap out of there? I'm guessing the pipe leads to some sort of drywell (there was no sewage in the town when the house was built).
Thanks for any ideas!!
