Without the real thing in front it's hard to make final judgements, having said that,
from some vids the whole car appears shorter in height. If it's real, that means lower sitting position and lower the roof, which explains much shorter height windows. My only thing is the small size of trunk opening. It's really bad if I can't get something that could fit in the trunk but just can't get em in. That's why I'd prefer hatch design. Even the rear window seems pretty small anyways. I wish they make a hatch version that's not the wagon but that's probably going to be even able to happen if the car sells well which i hope.
Many of the original Saab design cues are there. The pronounced strong c-pillar, very aerodynamic overall shape, wraparound interior, etc.
and some improvements. much less scraping front bumper design, shorter engine bay length (thus more interior space and cab forward design), smoother, very stylish overall shape, more modern interior, windshield speedo display, etc.
I fail to see that many if any designs that are obvious unoriginal. Front doesn't look garish like Audi, back is totally unique (maybe too much), exhaust looks similar to Lexus, but I wouldn't say it's copying, just modern. As a FWD, sloping roof to tail design makes perfect sense. Wish it had better execution of ReAx handling (more rear wheels turns when steering)
I actually see some Saab design cues from the new Cadillacs which are beautiful, which is really a good thing for GM. I'd say i have somewhat discerning design taste and new 9-5 looks sweet and hope it does well.
