Winter car: Help me decide. (A bit lenghty) Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Sun, 4 Oct 2009 14:21:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm not going to be doing this now, maybe in a year or so. I don't drive my viggen in the winter, and need a winter car. Safety is important, and I love Saabs.
Reasons for wanting a Saab: FWD, great winter car, already have one and know its problems, know how to fix them, know where to get parts (well, now this is starting to be a bit harder with the Saab dealerships closing and being in Canada)
Reasons for not wanting a Saab (I know, hard sentence to write) as a winter car: Parts more expensive, harder to get, if something big breaks down (like the turbo) it can be expensive, I'll care much more about my Saab than I would any other car (so if I hit a semi pothole in a mazda I probably won't care unless it did any damage!)
What do you think? Should I just buy a Saab 9-3 (OG), or find another winter car that's known to be reliable and good. What else is out there that's reasonably priced and are good winter cars?
Thanks very much! Bender.
