FWIW, my understanding is that you're only likely to "catch" the flu from the shot if you already have a touch of the flu. And the danger from the shot is far less than the risks from catching the flu.

Some medical professionals in the family don't get the shots and rely instead on obsessive hand washing, saying that the flu isn't air borne, so hand washing is an excellent defense. Their justification is that whatever causes the flu morphs between manufacture and delivery, so the shot might not protect you from whatever the most current morph might be.

Maybe so, but I get a shot every fall and haven't had the flu in years. Also, I wash my hands when I come in from a public place. Also jog 12 miles a week, no matter the weather. I think it helps toughen up my immune system, which may/may not be bs.

I think you're more susceptible to flu in an office building, because of the HVAC system, the desk surfaces and keyboards.
