One day your badge is looking good, the next day you notice half the paint has vanished in the night.

The problem is that they chrome them, then paint them. You can't get paint to stick to chrome unless you prep it by etching the chrome, which sort of defeats the purpose of chroming it in the first place. So,they peal.

To the OP: Class action suit might work...the problem affects just about every Saab owner since 1993. But, the ticket is so small... and class action suits always settle... for all your effort, a few years in court, lots of your time with the lawyers as the lead plantiff... and a need to pursue a lawsuit against a new corporate owner who may or may not have purchased this liability.... I might just pay the $30 to replace it.
