Wonder how many Saab owners would Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Wed, 28 Oct 2009 08:33:02 In Reply to: I wonder how many loyal Volvo owners will, Noel, Wed, 28 Oct 2009 07:03:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Buy a Saab if it was owned by an American company, oh wait, it is.
American build quality was not in high regards in Sweden in the 70s and 80s but we loved them anyway because of the giant sizes, big engines and flashy chrome even though it was no finish to them.
Instead of pressing the car body to proper shape they just threw in a whole bunch of spacers between door hinges or fenders to fill the gaps.
Also in the 70 and early 80s. Japanese cars didn't count high in quality but they were cheap and as we all know, cheap comes before anything else that matters.
So if the Volvo's are cheap enough and not falling apart too much, they will still sell and then a few years from now we have a new world leader in auto production when Toyota is pushed down to second place by Geely.
