there is no performance advantage to K&N. Even if you've staged the car, air intake is only a small bit of your total power. The turbo will pull in all the air it needs.
You still have to clean and oil the K&N filters, so there's no real savings in time. It takes 15 minutes every couple years to change a stock filter on a 9-5, 9-3 or 9K, and they're cheap.
K&N use the razor and razor blade business model. They aren't in the air filter business. They are in the "razor blade" business: selling the cleaning kits and oil.
