Yeah, I'm aware of the Hunter machine, I've recommended it to quite a few people who have had problems keeping wheels balanced. But some places around here charge a much higher price if you want them to use that machine.

This business of repositioning the tire was also told me by someone who doesn't own that machine. His claim was just what I said - he can reposition the tire & then use less balancing weights.

Just because I haven't spent the time to define an arbitrary cutoff for acceptable/unacceptable balancing weights, doesn't mean this business is some kind of "religion".
