Steve whats-his-name, the former Gen. Mgr. of Saab USA, told me last year at SCD that this was something they were looking at. Several manufacturers do this in a number of countries and it works well, either licensing a qualified indy shop or setting up a purely service operation. The deals include parts access, training on new products, special tools and information/software, etc. Now that Koenigsegg is running the show and has even fewer dealers this would make a whole lot of sense and would make selling cars easier.
It would be good to see that here. My cars no longer see dealers, but the nearest is 45-50 mins away. Not convenient if I were to get another CPO car. If my #1 indy signed on to something like that I'd be very interested.
