You can try lubbing the ignition lock cylinder heavily with WD-40 spray oil. Pull off the rubber cap on top (says lock, on, start) and lube it down the key hole as well as in the round groove between the inner and outer cylinders. Use LOTS of WD-40, then try again. Then keep trying gently. Make sure it it moving down out of the popped lock position as you turn to the right. If not, keep lubbing and perhaps tapping lightly with a block of wood on the top and sides. (A rag wrapped around the area will keep the over-spray off your interior). Also make sure it's in reverse (if a manual... park for an auto) and shift in and out of gear multiple times.
It may come free, it may not. If not, you will need to replace the switch. If it does come free, be nice and tell the buyer that you had to lube it so they can keep an eye on it.
