We own a 2006 SC with 49k miles. 2.0T 5 speed. It has had no major problems, it has performed very well so far. We bougth it CPO with 32K. The only complaint is that the rear hatch needs to be closed very hard for it to lock properly, the dealer says its "normal". I found one of the latch mechanism bolts was loose, tightening it helped a bit.

Things to check before buying -

Check for records of regular oil changes with 100% synthetic oil. (We change ours about 2x a year, at intervals shorter than the recomended 10,000 in the manual.) Also check the rear brakes, the Stability Control System activates the rear brakes on its own and the pads are prone to wearing much faster than the front pads. Our mechanic noticed our rear pads are very thin when installing new tires last week, so this car you are considering may need new rear pads. When we bought our SC from a dealer, we did not notice there was no rear cargo cover installed in the car, perhaps it was an option or prior owner discarded it? We wish we noticed this and negotiated a new one in the sales deal. We were looking at several cars and more than one SC on the lot that day. We did check that it had mats, as one other 9-3 there did not. So check for those little items, mats, cargo cover, interior lights, radio, CD player working, etc.

Other than that, you should be ok, the car may have up to a year of the origianl factory warranty remaining for peice of mind. Good Luck.
