Dear President Obama:
This is a unusual request, but I wondering you could have a few words with the leaders of GM, which are still partly owned by the taxpapers, in regards to the fate of Saab AB. I understand high governement officals from Sweden are on their way to Detroit at this hour to discuss the fate of Saab with GM. Time is almost out for them and I know you have been informed of the situation. Sweden has been a friend and helped us in regards to European issues, especially with NATO issues. It would be a body blow for Sweden to lose Saab as far their heavy industry is concerned. I know that many of your supporters drive these cars. Saab owners are the most loyal customers in the world, as measured by several German studies. All we, the loyal America Saab owners, are asking is for a little more time to attempt to sell Saab again. I would think that up to 40,000 Americans, and tens of thousands more around the world will have a very sad Christmas if they go down. They have fighting a magnificent fight to save the brand and it would be a noble gesture on your behalf to ask GM for 60 more days. It would probably cost GM, little or nothing, at this point as the company is operating at very low levels. Sometimes it is the small things that make us a great nation.
