The writing was on the wall. GM never really invested in the brand. That's why we had a 9-5 that was 12 years old, and the 03 9-3 was no replacement for the versatile hatch models that preceded it. I have had six of these cars, since 1980. Three C900 turbos, NG900, OG9-3, 9-5 Aero. Almost 900,000 miles in them collectively. Worst of the lot was the 1994 NG900 which GM had a heavy hand in rushing to market before the bugs were out.

Parts are already getting harder to find and dealers scarce, boneyards are raising their prices on used parts too. My dealer shut down awhile ago leaving us with a worthless CPO warranty on the 04-Aero.

All I can say is that I am glad I did not buy that Pontiac G8 (Aussie Holden) last year. That thing was a rocket and I kind of liked it too. Those folks will have a real hard time finding parts.

I will drive the two remaining Saabs I have till they don't go anymore. I might torch the 9-5 Aero, but I love my old trusty 00 9-3, trunk leaks and all.
