Somebody needs to step up for SAAB. Otherwise I feel it could play out just like Gordan Gekko's Blue Star airline in "Wall Street." This could be played right in front of us and there will be nothing we can do about it. Closing Saab because they can't get their asking price because the assets are worth more. If the USA Gov owns 60% of GM, whats their role in this? Or is it a case of insuring a non cash deal?

Otherwise it looks like corporate greed. That or GM (and the USA Gov) are not very easy to do business with right now.

There is a tremendous wealth in infrastructure the will simply go away if SAAB closes its doors. Whether or not the original $725 million purchase of SAAB would pay off, GM was staring down at 2 or more prospective deals.

Tough biz.

Personally, I wanted Boeing to step up and make Saab the next generation of over-engineered automobiles. Guess not.

It's a sad day in Trollhättan and for anyone connected to these cars.
