GM abused saab? Give it a rest. I drive a saab and really like the car...but give it rest. Saab would not have survived as long as it did if GM had not purchased it. Check out the list price of saabs v. bmw and other better cars. GM took a beating by buying saab...a bad investment. Saab is a niche brand in a business that requires volume sales to have any chance of being profitable. There is a reason that saab sold to GM,,,,it had no choice. Gm tried to make it profitable and couldnt. The changes that gm made to saab made it unattractive to the saab crowd (a relatively small crowd). But in order to be profitable, gm needed to create a wider appeal for saab. GM failed to create that broad appeal. But saab would have been doomed anyway. Like it or not, GM was the last and best chance that saab had. Its ridiculous to blame gm for the end of saab. We dont have one room school houses anymore, we dont have local bakeries, we dont have milk delivered at home anymore and we dont have niche car companies......all sad but reality.
