OT: Roof bars for 9-3SC and 9-2X Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 20 Dec 2009 13:20:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We own a 2006 9-3SC which my wife wanted stripped of the roof rails immediately upon purchase back in June of 2006. Done!
We now are planning a Holiday vacation where roof crossbars, the ones which screw into the hidden threaded bosses beneath the doors of the roof trim strips, could come in very handy supporting a roof box with additional cargo.
My local C-L has separate listings for a Thule Expedition roof box and a pair of Saab Sport-Combi roof cross bars. The ad said these bars thread into hidden fittings on the roof, but never mentioned the specific SAAB model. I contacted the cross bar poster to verify these bars fit the 9-3SC. He said they were for his 2007 9-2T. Huh?
Was the 9-2X even sold as a 2007 model? Do the roof cross bars for the 9-2X and Subaru Imprezza also thread into roof fittings?
Obviously the poster is a little confused, there never was a 9-2T, But the descriptions of the bars lead me to believe he is possibly seriously confused and actually owned a 2007 9-3SC 2.0T - which means the bars will fit our car.
Any knowledge of 9-2X or Imprezza roof bars out there?
Thanks,
