Hi Chris,

I won't judge you for doing what you have to do. In my opinion it is better to have a Viggen and drive it in the snow than to have no Viggen!

I'll even admit to taking our Viggen out in ONE snow storm (mind you our Viggen hides in a garage and if I am not mistaken has NEVER had the wipers run - I am trying to keep it factory / mint although I do have 15k miles... it NEEDS to be driven).

In any case - we took the Viggen up to Western Massachusetts and got caught in a snow storm (it wasn't snowing in Connecticut). Even with the factory tires (no Blizzaks) we took the Viggen onto dirt roads (covered in snow) and I was amazed and think it may be one of the best snow Saabs I have ever driven - we were amazed at her traction and competence on the slick stuff... simply amazing for such a powerful and low ground clearance machine... and I am not easy to impress on snow with Saabs - one of our best in my opinion was the first 78 99 EMS combi / hatch. I still miss that car. :(

And if it helps to know - I CAN'T judge anyone's Saab being dirty as our 93 and 94 live outside (so does the 2002 but I sort of refuse to drive her one dirty roads), are daily drivers and do have rust. I am ashamed to admit they are suffering, but this is life when you can't afford to keep every car looking perfect. It doesn't mean I love them any less! :)

I'll be on the lookout for your beautiful blue Viggen on the roads around here and hope to meet up someday. Let us know if you want to plan a Saab "event" sometime... anytime!
